HELP! It's World Book Day on Thursday and I need a new costume. Have worn my Holyhead Harpies outfit for the past two years and most of my other costumes were used by others last year when the whole school had a Potter theme. (I had an awesome Molly Weasley outfit and of course some Slytherin robes)
Costume needs to be easy to source (I only have Tuesday really to sort it due to rehearsals)
Costume needs to be practical for a day of teaching!
Costume needs to be easy to change out of in time for parents evening (stupid school calendar!)
I'd love it to have a Potter theme but am open to any bookish suggestions. So... any ideas? Thanks in advance wonderful people!

Re: World Book Day 2017
I once went as Tris from Divergent to a dress-up party. Apart from really liking the character/series, I went this route because of the simplicity behind the outfit. I wore black jeans, boots, and black tank top. I also topped it off with a grey cardigan to highlight Tris's ties to her original faction.
Another option could be to go as Thursday Next from The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde. She's a literary detective, so anything detective-y could work.
It's awesome that you'll be dressing up for World Book Day!

You could dress as Buttercup from The Princess Bride! Either outfit -- that of the 'simple country girl' or that of the 'Princess Bride'.
Or as someone from that 'play' -- Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
What fun - so many options!

I was so tempted by Tris but in the end have gone for a pretty poor version of Katniss from Hunger games. Pretty much the same as Tris but with bow and arrow, side plait and a mocking jay pin!

Disadvantages of Screen Readers: For a minute there, I was convinced you'd said side plate and was trying to remember when Katniss armed herself from the china cabinet. Sounds amazing, plait and all!
I'm doing it subtly by wearing my white dress and Mockingjay Pin as Madge. (Because who says being in University is to old...)

Haha that certainly would have been an interesting battle technique! As long as she didn't use the best china I'm sure it would have been fine.
Love your costume plan. Simple yet awesome
