I absolutely love this quote. It's said by Gimli when he and Legolas are talking about the deeds of Men, their failings, and the fact that they will endure beyond elves and dwarves.

You're right, of course. And I love this quote as well (one of my most favourite lines from the entire book ^^).

You're on now biggrin.gif
"I write so I shan't fade away. In every writing, I leave a piece of me, a memory, an ideal, a feeling, something. I write as I live, spontaneously, chaotically. I write so I will remember one day and realize I wasn't dreaming. I write, because I'm still alive." -unknown

That's Gollum/Smeagol (never sure what to call him ^^') to Sam and Frodo when they are crossing the marshes. He actually starts out muttering to himself but in the end he adresses the two hobbits.

That's Gandalf about Pippin to some men I believe are guards of Minas Tirith.

Not sure about this, but...
One of the orc leaders, Shagrat maybe, talking to the other about Frodo, who they have just found stunned outside Shelob's lair. They are arguing about what they should do with him.

I feel like another poem...

In Dwimordene, in Lorien
Seldom have walked the feet of Men
Few mortal eyes have seen the light
That lies there ever, long and bright

Gandalf sings this in Meduseld, after Gríma's remark about webs of deceit woven in Dwimordene.

I really, really am unsure about this... might break my perfect streak! But I feel like guessing.
Tom Bombadil to the hobbits about his pony, Fatty Lumpkin. The quote "free upon the hillsides" tipped me off, since it sounded like it.
