Throughout the Quidditch World Cup, we will be playing some Quidditch mini-games. They can seem a little tricky if you haven't played them before, so I'm here to take you through a mini-games crash course to help you survive on the pitch!
CAB gets its name from the fierce rivalry between Cookies and Brownies. In this game, one player from each team are selected to compete over a single question. Whoever answers first scores a point for their team!
Creaothceann is not a game for the faint-hearted. All players race for a question. The fastest two then race for another question to score a point.
HORSE is the Quidditch version of the popular basketball game. All players must answer the question or receive a letter. If a players receives all five letters, H-O-R-S-E, they are eliminated. Last player standing wins!
In Monarch, players compete to be King of the Hill. In order to score points, you must maintain a streak of at least two questions. Each question you answer in your streak nets you one point.
Quodpot is a game of chance. Every 1-5 questions is a bomb! Answer the wrong question and you will explode and be knocked out of the game. The game ends when the trailing team have all been eliminated!
Bludger Dodgeball is the terrible working title of a new game based off of Quodpot. Like Quodpot, some questions are Bludgers. The risk of getting Bludgered starts off at zero, but increases randomly each question. To evade the Bludger, you must type 'dodge' before anyone from the opposing team types 'hit.' Fail to dodge, and you will be eliminated!
Some of these games may be played using the Cascade question set. In Cascade, you will be given a question with multiple answers - but only one is correct! For example, you might be asked to name a Hogwarts house. While Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw may be correct answers, the only acceptable answer might be Slytherin.
Hope this helps! Most of these games are pretty easy to get the hang of, don't be afraid to jump right in!
