Week Seven – Paraguay

Post by Maxim Trevelyan » Mon Aug 13, 2018 1:54 pm

Sandwiched between Brazil, Argentina and Bolivia, Paraguay is comprised of a subtropical forest, chaco and large areas of swampland.

Paraguay offers architectural beauty shown with Panteon Nacional de los Heroes, Iglesia Virgen de la Candelaria, Manzana de la Rivera and Casa Viola. We will also stop at Itaipú Dam, which lies on the border with Brazil and is one of the largest hydroelectric dams on the planet. While there, we will look at its local fauna, as it even has its own, small ecosystem. Tea lovers will rejoice to see that our last stop is Bella Vista’s tereré plantations, which gave birth to the iconic bitter herbal tea that is so beloved in Paraguay.
