Week Five – Madagascar

Post by Maxim Trevelyan » Mon Jul 30, 2018 2:10 pm

Welcome to Madagascar, an island off the East Coast of Africa!

Our focus this time will be uniqueness: over 90 % of the wildlife on Madagascar can be found nowhere else in the world. As we take a respectful tour of some of these vibrant ecosystems, we will be keeping an eye open for perhaps the most famous of these, the lemur (a playful primate known for its clownish face and long, ringed tail). Another thing Madagascar is famous for is the well-loved vanilla, so we will enjoy some of that in the form of a local specialty after our hike, mixed with sugar and sprinkled over a rainbow of fresh fruit as we stop on the Croc Farm and walk on the Avenue of the Baobabs.

15 animals found in Madagascar are hidden in the word-search below. Find them, so we can take some pictures to go together with the memories. No animal name is five or less letters long and there are some with two words or more as part of one phrase. If you do find an animal with five or less letters in its name it is part of a larger name.

Find the animals in the word-search and send the solution to me over HOL Forum message (Subject: BrtW – Madagascar) by September 2nd 11:59 pm HOL time for 25 Hoots and 10 beans.
