The recent appearance of the illustrated versions of the Harry Potter stories by Jim Kay has made us relive the magic of the wizarding world, this time with a great collection of images that help us to paint a picture in our minds while reading.
Illustrating such popular books was not an easy task. Even Jim Kay confessed that he was worried “to ruin the most popular children’s book in history”, but fortunately that didn’t happen, and on the contrary, they became a big triumph.
Now you are in Jim Kay’s shoes, and your task for this week is to illustrate a character or creature from the Harry Potter universe. You'll earn 10 points! Just remember to include the name of the character or creature you are illustrating and don’t forget that your art should be 600x600 pixels or less.
You have until February 4th, 11:59 pm HOL time to complete your illustration. When you are done, please send it to hol.bookclub @ gmail.com (with the spaces removed), and include the following subject: “Week 1 – Illustration – HOL ID”. Don’t forget to include your HOL Name, ID and House at the top of your e-mail. Your work will be shared so that everyone can enjoy your art, however, if you don’t wish that your submission is publicly posted, please let us know.
