Welcome to the ocean!
Have you always wanted to be part of your very own fleet, battling against the enemy? If so you've come to the right place.
This activity will be based off the classic boardgame Battleship, and played in teams of 4 people: Sign up here
. Each team will get a grid to place their own ships on, and empty grids representing their opponents. Like in its boardgame counterpart it is the goal for each team to sink as many of the enemy ships as possible, while keeping their own ships floating.
Shots will be earned by solving puzzles and completing tasks throughout the event. The number of shots each team earns in a week will be determined by the time they finish their tasks. The team to complete all four of them the fastest will earn the most shots.
After teams learn how many shots they earned, they will have 24 hours to declare their targets in their team forum. They can use them all on one team or they can spread them out against different teams.
Each team must have a Captain, Commander, Rear Admiral and Lieutenant. At the start of each round, a task will be posted for each member of the team. The solution can ONLY be turned in by this member, so be sure everyone is going to be available. These will be a mixture of puzzles and creative tasks. It will be different each week who gets what.
Remember, ONLY the person a task is assigned to can submit the answer.Points/Awards
20 points for each round.
10 points for third place.
15 points for second place.
25 points for winning team.
Everyone who participates and turns in at least half of the tasks will receive a Battleship Award, and the winning team will receive a Battleship Winner Award. Timeline

If a team fails to finish, the time of their completed tasks will be counted as their final time, along with a penalty for every task not finished. Penalties will be the total amount of time available to complete the task. If they submit an incorrect answer, they will be given another chance to send in the correct one, with an 8hr time penalty.
If a team member disappears, their team can declare them Lost At Sea in their team forum. They will no longer be sent tasks. Instead, one member of their team will be randomly selected to receive two tasks each week.
If a team member knows they will be unavailable for a task, they can declare themselves seasick and we will assign their task to someone else.
