Hogsmeade Literary Festival

Postby Prof. Amy Lupin » Thu Oct 19, 2017 10:39 am

The village of Hogsmeade is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its first ever literary festival. The mayor of Hogsmeade hopes to make this an annual event, but this decision will be made based on the reception of this event.

From author panels, book launches, interesting stalls, literature awards to a writing workshop, there is bound to be something that appeals to fans of wizarding literature.

This activity will take place over 5 weeks. The festival itself will last 3 weeks (each week symbolising a 'day' of the festival), with the first week of the activity dedicated to pre-festival tasks. You would be put in the shoes of volunteers helping out with putting together the festival during the first week of the activity, and then for the remaining weeks, you would take on the role of festival attendees. The last week of the activity will be dedicated to book trading.

Timeline:

19 - 28 October: Sign Ups
30 October: Week 1 (Day 0 / Pre-festival) tasks released (due by 5 November)
6 November: Week 2 (Day 1) tasks released (due by 12 November)
13 November: Week 3 (Day 2) tasks released (due by 19 November)
20 November: Week 4 (Day 3) tasks released (due by 26 November)
27 November: Week 5 (Post-Festival) (ends 3 December)

There will be two tasks released each week (with the exception of Week 5), each worth 10 points. Should you complete at least half the tasks, you will be eligible for the Hogsmeade Literary Festival Attendee award.

Be sure to check out the Book Collecting Overview thread for details on how you can earn beans and another award.

The inhabitants of Hogsmeade thoroughly enjoyed the literary festival thanks to your efforts. From interesting themes to in-depth discussions, programs for the students of Hogwarts, the inaugural Hogsmeade Literary Festival has left a lasting impact.

To thank you for your contributions, the mayor of Hogsmeade has arranged with Hogwarts that you be receiving credit (ie. points) as per the following spreadsheet. Should you notice anything amiss, please contact the mayor’s Hogwarts liaison Prof. Amy Lupin as soon as possible.

Additionally, the following people will be receiving the Hogsmeade Literary Festival Attendee for participating in half of what was on offer:
