Quills have long been made with either goose or duck feathers, some tipped with a metal head while others weren't, leading to endless sharpening and quills needing to be exchanged often. The metal heads on the other hand were often scratchy and could easily leave blotches on the parchment, especially in uneven areas. This has caused many a witch and wizard grey hairs, but no longer! We now introduce the Soft Quill, featuring a wide selection in feathers; both goose and duck for the traditionalist, as well as pheasant, peacock and swan for those with a slightly more flashy sense of style. We've also introduced dyed feathers to please those who wish to be able to pick a certain style, or even just keep track of which quill they use for which ink, so one does not suddenly use the wrong quill for the wrong colour ink and inadvertently mix the two colours.
But best of all, the quill has a soft rubber tip on the metal head, which makes the quill glide softly across any surface and makes scratches and splotches much less likely.
Come in and try today! We know you will love it.
