Quaffle Rules

Postby Prof. Cody Lewis » Tue Jun 14, 2016 6:42 am

  • Games will be played 3v3 with a Chaser, Beater, and Keeper.
  • The referee, official, and team captains will use #refchan to handle any issues. Captains must call time in the game channel before arguing a question.
  • Lineups must be sent to both the referee and the official at least 5 minutes before the game is scheduled to begin.
  • At least two houses must be represented in the lineup, with no more than two 'Pro' players. See List of Pro Players for more information.
  • 'Non-pro' players (those who have never played for their house team) will have a two-letter rule (one-letter for one-word answers).
  • There will be three 15-minute periods of play for a total of 45 minutes.
  • Between each period, there will be a three-minute break.
  • During breaks, Team A will rotate their lineup downwards (C > B > K > C). Team B will not rotate.
  • Substitutions will be allowed during break if a player pings out or otherwise has to leave.
  • A team can play with two players if necessary, with the vacant position rotating as it normally would. If the vacant position is Chaser, the opposing team's Keeper may play as a second Beater instead. The vacant position may be filled by an eligible team member at any point during the game.
  • Bludgers will be decided by the first team to two dodges. Winning team picks one player from the opposing team to have 0-letter rule until next goal. No players are safe.
  • If a team plays with only two players, they will not need two houses represented. However, a third player can be substituted into the game at any time as long as they represent a second house.
  • Keep in mind that if the team has only two players, and knows that it will be without a keeper, a beater and a chaser in each of the timed sections, they may choose to forfeit the game.

For a couple of reasons this is BUMPED.

Players -- please be aware that your team captain needs to give the lineup to the ref and the official before the game starts. That lineup goes to the ref no fewer than 5 minutes before the game starts. (In regular House Quidditch games, that time is 10 minutes before the start of the game - click.)

Referees -- please be in #refchan and #quidditch at least 5 minutes before the game starts. (This is different from the regular House Quidditch games, where you need to be present at least 10 minutes before the game starts -- click.)

If you are being a Seeker ref in #snitch, there is no need to be in #refchan (thank you Arianna for that reminder). If you have a question for the SQL official, a p2p will do just fine (unless you want communications to be in #refchan so you don't get your p2ps and notices mixed up).

Thank you all.

ANOTHER BUMP

Please everyone be aware that there is an addition to the Quidditch Handbook in Trivia Answer Rules. (These are not new -- they are old and somehow disappeared from the Handbook.)

Do NOT copy/paste your answers from the team room, or any other source, into the game room. Type them in, letter by letter ...

Do NOT use Control F. Am finding the penalties if proven this was used. Don't be the person who we have to find them for.
