You're likely already aware of this but Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a new Harry Potter story. Technically the 8th story of the adventures of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, and all our (other) favorite characters from the Wizarding World. It picks up 19 years later from where we left off things back with Deathly Hallows.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is one West End play presented in two Parts, which are intended to be seen in order on the same day (matinee and evening) or on two consecutive evenings. The play is also being released in book form, and that book that contains the script of the two-part play, will officially make its debut Sunday evening, July 31st. The official synopsys reads:
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
Did you see the play? Do you plan on seeing it? Have you read the book? Do you plan on reading it?
Did you enjoy it? Did you dislike it? Did something in particular stand out to you?
Feel free to post in this subforum and discuss it to your heart's content. But PLEASE USE SPOILER TAGS if you are mentioning any information from the play/book. We've all waited for this for a long time, and we all want everyone to discuss it freely, so as long as we're not spoiling anything for those who have yet to see the play or read the book. Even Queen JK Rowling praises the fandom for not spoiling things for their fellow Potterheads.
"It's the most extraordinary fandom so I'm kind of not surprised, because they didn't want to spoil it for each other." She added: "I'm so happy we got here without ruining everything."
Spoilers without any spoiler tag will NOT be tolerated, and will be punished severely. This subforum will be monitored heavily, so you've been warned. Please be respectful toward everyone else and don't ruin this for them.
