Bracket Blitz - United

Puddlemere United

Beat back those Bludgers, boys, and chuck that Quaffle here
No team can ever best the best of Puddlemere!

Choose one of the teams participating in the European Cup and write an anthem for that team. You can even choose to write a new anthem for Puddlemere United! Your anthem should be at least 20 lines long.

Scarlet Cannons - Kim Alting

So, I picked lines from different anthems of countries around the world to make this anthem for the Appleby Arrows :D

The peoples of Appleby, unfortunately,
Were oppressed for three centuries by a scepter
But one magnificent day surging forth,
Enough!, it said, and broke the scepter.

Do not cry dear mother Appleby,
Raise your head proudly high,
Appleby is free
Free to live!

The faith of an open-hearted British does not die out,
The young free generation is a strong wing for you!
To thee our Appleby,
Heaven of the free,
We sing our love to thee,
Joyously,
Our own fair islands of liberty.

Love one another!
O God of creation
Direct our noble cause
Guide our leaders right.

Souls and bodies we'll lay down, all for our freedom,
And we'll show that we, brothers, are of the British nation!

Tri-House Triumvirate - Prof. Sandra Bloomwicks

Hail to the Harpies
The time was old when these witches gathered,
In the town of Holyhead this team began.
They were the fiercest of flyers you ever did see
Ooooh, yes and still the fiercest in the league.

Flying high, oh they ride
Into the sky, see them dive
As if with wings, gracefully
Though they will sting, bumblebee

Hail to the Harpies
Green and Gold
Hail to the Harpies
Green and Gold

With talons of gold they'll snatch the snitch
Scorn of a woman fuels the beaters' wrath
Agility of their chasers will score through and through
Their keeper saying NOOOO to all quaffles coming near

Hail to the Harpies
They will win
Hail to the Harpies
Scores with a grin

They show the strength of witches is true
Never underestimate their fiery attitudes
For on the field they will always dominate
Harpies talons sharp and aim is true

Oh we haaaaail
Talons claaaaw
Hooolyhead
Haaarpies

B.A.M - Maxwell Shadow

Our song is written to the tune of Deutchland Uber Alles (The German National Anthem) and celebrates the mighty Heidelberg Harriers:

Harriers, Harriers, above all
We'll beat everyone in the world
When, well always, for the gold
Brothers we stand together
Get the Quaffle, get the Bludgers
Get the tiny golden Snitch
Harriers, Harriers, above all
We'll beat everyone in the world!
(Harriers, Harriers, above all
We'll beat everyone in the world!)

Mighty hoops that reach the heavens
May our Keeper guard you well
May our Chasers race towards you
With their Quaffles held on high
Watch for Bludgers, watch the Beaters
Watch yourself if you're afraid
Harriers, Harriers, above all
We'll beat everyone in the world!
(Harriers, Harriers, above all
We'll beat everyone in the world!)

Let us get the golden snitch
For the pride of Heidelberg
Let the Seeker dive for victory
And to bring the gold home
Let our German Fatherland
Prosper in this great teams glory
Harriers, Harriers, above all
We'll beat everyone in the world!
(Harriers, Harriers, above all
We'll beat everyone in the world!)

The Flintshire Fireballs - Amy Lupin

Throw the Quaffle, catch the snitch
we don't waffle, we bewitch
Watch out, rival! Watch us, friend!
We play Quidditch 'till the end.

As we soar across the skies,
we hear our rivals' cries,
but that of our friends' are louder,
which lends us strength and power.

Dashing here and there
through the very air.
Keep a close eye on us,
otherwise our next move you might miss.

Quidditch is more than just a sport.
Lend us your support,
for we will not disappoint.
Another goal and we'll be up by several points.

When the final whistle sounds,
we cheer as we head for the ground.
Whether we won or lost,
we know know we gave it our best shot.

D.A.S.N. - Ryan Granger

Dear Future Opponents: (Sang to the tune of Dear Future Husband by Meghan Trainor for the Kadf;jasdja Kites)

Dear future opponents,
Here's a few things you need to know if,
you're going to play us in a little quidditch match.
(Ahhhhhhhhhhh)
First pick out a date,
And then don't be late.
And don't forget to bring along the bruise paste.
'Cause you're going to need it dears,
Throughout all your tears.
Getting beat by the Kites,
Getting beat by the Kites.

You got a winnin' record,
But, baby, so do we.
So we hate to hand you a loss upon your anniversary.
That's a bit of a lie,
We'll make you want to die.
While getting beat by the Kites,
Getting beat by the Kites.

You've got to know when we've got you beat,
'Cause everyone gets beat,
When they face...the Kites.

Homeslices - Ashley Margaret

(Sung to the tune of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star")

Beater batted wasp nest to
Other seeker high he flew
Hit the seeker on his back
Made a loud noise like a smack

Attacked by wasps from the nest
They stung and stung without rest
Seeker injured had to quit
The game ended, we won it

Winning method had been found
Distract chaser with the sound
Other chaser tries to score
Keeper blocks and crowd goes roar

Of all teams we are the best
Robes with wasp nest on the chest
Stripes of yellow and of black
Worn by team who wins the plaque

Score goals with a ball so round
Enough goals to win the crown
Never a team hearts so true
Buzzing loudly as they flew.

Boggart Busters - Sirius Fudge

O Puddlemere, great Puddlemere
The team with no one to fear
The other team's shedding a tear
The message is very clear!

O Puddlemere, great Puddlemere
Strong and mighty as a bear
Fast and agile as a deer
Another win as seen by a seer!

O Puddlemere, great Puddlemere
Beaters mighty in their black gears
No one as focused as our keeper
Our seeker catching with hands bare!

O Puddlemere, great Puddlemere
To our chasers, no one dare
Not even a hint of a glare
Uh oh, another score for us there!

O Puddlemere, great Puddlemere
United we are, united we stare
To Puddlemere, our absolute care
Puddlemere United, hooray, hooray-er!

Bracket Breakers - Will Lestrange

In central eastern Europe
From a country called Bulgaria
Plays a renowned Quidditch team
Whose prowess should just scare 'ya.

Of the teams in the Continent
the Vultures are the best
Vratsa's Quidditch players
are simply better than the rest.

Watching the Vratsa Vultures
is a joy that won't grow old;
Our signature move, the Long Goal
is a pleasure to behold.

The number of all-Europe cups
that we won totals seven;
by this time four years from now
it will total eleven.

The Vratsa Vultures are the most
Thrilling team in the land...
So on the count of three let's all
give them a big hand!

Group X - Leonie Hauri

The Ballycastle Bats play true and fair,
Never could another team compare,
Quaffles here and Bludgers there,
On the ground and in the air,

Oh, tis a mighty team,
And how could one compare?
As it likely seems,
Not a soul would dare!

All throughout the game,
The Bats will fly!
They play without shame,
Oh, just hear our cry!

Ye shall never see
A more loyal team,
As it shall always be,
We shall shine and gleam....!

Victory's ours and so's the game,
Don't feel any guilt or shame,
We never assign any blame,
Though victory is ours to claim

Group Z - Patrick James

This is the anthem for Kenmare Kestrels:

Quidditch is the game we play,
Our players put a brilliant fray
We sit here and stare at awe,
At how our team has yours in our claws.
We love our gin and our beer,
And with our Kestrels, we never fear!

Lets go Kenmare, go on you guys,
Show how your plays are the perfect ploy!
Lets go Kestrels, fly at your best
We know you can beat the rest!

Keep the green flag flying high,
We are the ones with true might
Pass that Quaffle, catch that snitch,
Our lads win without a hitch
We are the best, that's a certain,
And when then match is over, we close the curtain!

Lets go Kenmare, go on you guys,
(KEN-)
Show how your plays are the perfect ploy!
(-MARE!)
Lets go Kestrels, fly at your best
(KES-)
We know you can beat the rest!
(-TRELS!)
