April - Haiku Poetry Day

Observed on April 17th, Haiku Poetry Day honors this short poetry form that originated in Japan.

Did you know that haiku became popular in English speaking countries in the early 20th century?

Haiku is a type of short poetry that is usually three sentences long. The first and last sentences have 5 syllables and the second line has 7 syllables.

For this task, make three individual haikus (or more), or a longer poem made up of three haikus and post them below. Haikus must be of your own creation and all normal HOL rules apply.

For 15 Hoots and 15 beans, post your haiku as a reply to this thread by April 30th, 11:59 PM HOL time at the latest.

Learning magic at
Hogwarts, and brewing potions
Hogwarts is my home

The Halloween feast
And the Christmas at Hogwarts
Hogwarts is my home

Ghosts and the portraits
The Sorting Hat and Filch's cat
Hogwarts is my home

Towers and dungeons
Transfiguration and Charms
Hogwarts is my home

In times of great need
Hogwarts will always be there
Hogwarts is my home

The full moon challenge
Is scary for a werewolf
And out of control.

But a potion helps
To ease the transformation
Too bad it tastes bad.

No silver bullets
And that’s probably okay
Werewolves can be friends!

Smile Friends, Here We Are
Either Brave, Smart, Nice, Sly
We become one here..

We learn, play and stay
We do Wave, Flick and Spell
Change the goblet cup!

Sometimes we are bad,
sneak out night to forest
see things here and there

That's why teens is gift
spend times like no one dare
let no regret stand...

The sun in the sky
brightly it glows in the morn
The dew drops on grass

The clouds cotton candy pink
come out to play now

Listen to the birds
morning song, morning song, tweet
Harmonizing sweet

Wake up, hum the tune
Windows raise, smell the flowers
The bees pollinate

Early morning rise
brightly shining in the morn
The sun in the sky

he's back, the one who
betrayed me, and I was killed
he is back again

different body
same mind, same disloyalty
I am back again

but this time no more
I do not blame myself now
I do not blame him

but if he betrays
it is himself he betrays
he doesn't know me
