A future with sharp class divides run by the rich elite. Maddie is a creative supported by a benefactor who supports her research. Her patron is pushing her to finish inventing a teleporter and will not tell her what he intends for her daughter's future. Her daughter is closing in on age 18 and what will happen? Who is this man from the underclass and how does he fit into the story and/or Maddie's future?
