Summer is slowly drawing to an end and the crisp, golden glow of autumn and the promise of a new term are beckoning. It’s time to put away our deck chairs for another year and the Summer Reading challenge along with them.
It’s been fabulous to read alongside so many enthusiastic HOLers and especially to experience everyone’s insights and personal takes on the books they’ve encountered. Whether you reached your pledge or fell short (hey, it happens), I hope you thoroughly enjoyed the pages you did manage to turn. We actually read 76 books between us!
But let’s celebrate those pledge passers for a moment. 19 people did manage to reach or surpass their target and will be earning the ‘Summer Reading Challenge Winner Award’. Those intrepid literary voyagers are:
Austin Ollivander Black
Bull J. Johnson
Hannah R. Thomas
Prof. Amy Lupin
Prof. Arielle Lemoyne
Prof. Gustavo Flores
Prof. Rilla White
Prof. Tarma Amelia Black
However much you read, it’s been wonderful to share part of your summer with you. But reading doesn’t have to end just because the season has - we hope to see you around The Bookclub in the fun filled months to come! In fact, we’re about to start another joint reading adventure with Garth Nix’s ‘Sabriel’ which is our September book discussion. Keep an eye out for the posts on September 1st.
