Bludger

Postby Prof. Scarlet Leslie-Lewis » Tue Sep 29, 2015 10:25 pm

It is the referee's decision when to throw a "BLUDGER!!" In this case, all Quaffle players are to type "dodge" as soon as possible. The catch is - only the first three dodges from each team are counted.

The captain of the team that gets their three dodges first may pick an opponent to sit out until one of the following events occurs:
- the next goal is scored
- after 15 game situations
- after 5 minutes of Quaffle play time
- after 7 minutes of clock time

Opponents who typed "dodge" before the winning team's three dodges were registered may not be bludgered.

The exception: Keepers can only be bludgered if it the Quaffle is in the scoring area. E.g. "Keeper A" can only be bludgered if the next situation will be "Chaser vs Keeper A."

dodge must be spelled correctly to count - the "one letter" rule does not apply.

Example:

[A-C2-Player] dodge
[B-B2-Player] dodge
[A-C1-Player] dodge
[A-B1-Player] dogde
[B-B1-Player] dodge
[A-K-Player] dodge
[B-K-Player] dodge
[B-C3-Player] dodge

Explanation:

[A-C2-Player] dodge First successful team A player to dodge
[B-B2-Player] dodge First successful team B player to dodge
[A-C1-Player] dodge Second successful team A player to dodge
[A-B1-Player] dogde Unsuccessful team A player dodge
[B-B1-Player] dodge Second successful team B player to dodge
[A-K-Player] dodge Third successful team A player to dodge
[B-K-Player] dodge Too late to count
[B-C3-Player] dodge Too late to count

Team A wins the Bludger. However, players and B-B2, B-B1 dodged before team A were successful and therefore cannot be bludgered. B-K is only safe if the next question is not a Team A Chaser vs Team B Keeper question.
