Playing Quidditch

Quidditch in HOL is played on IRC and is based on Harry Potter trivia, each house has its own team and all active students can try to become part of it.

Everything you should know about Quidditch, such as basic rules for both Quaffle and Snitch can be found in the HOL handbook (*click here*).

There's a lot of work going into house Quidditch here at HOL. To get on the house team, you need typing skills and trivia skills, as well as the abilities to stand out in a crowd and to work under pressure. If you don't have that, well, you can try out anyway, but those make a good player.

If you're interested in trying out for your house team click on the relevant link below for information on how!

The HOL Handbook has suffered a permanent sticking charm and we are currently unable to update it with some important information. A correct, up-to-date version of the Quidditch Handbook has been put HERE. As soon as we get this dark magic undone, and can correct the Quidditch part of the HOL Handbook we will do so.

The Quidditch Handbook has been updated to include doubling!

Doubling means that one player plays two Quaffle positions simultaneously in the same game.

The Quidditch Handbook has been updated to include probation!

Probation is a way to give students, postgrads, or emeritus professors the option to play even if they missed the academic requirements last term.

The Quidditch Handbook has been updated to include conceding!

Conceding is a way for teams to end lopsided matches early without forfeiting their House points.
