Would that be the Evenstar?
Yes!

Well done -- and if we're playing again - your turn!

It seems we are now ;)

With watchful eyes and little light
I do my duty every night
to let some in and keep some out,
though rain and wind blow all about.
I met my end, when at my gate
the darkest foe came knocking late.

Or, as a friend pointed out, a quote from somewhere else is almost fitting: "I open at the close." :D

Oh, did he die? :o

Is this the watchkeeper at the gate when the group of 4 Hobbits went to their first 'big people' town and met ... ta da Aragorn son of Arathorn? And the kings of old, who wore the Rings (the Ringwraiths) came swooping in ... <_<

You are correct :) And considering that the Nazgûl pushed the gate onto him and rode over it, I felt fairly safe in assuming that he did die. It's never stated, though.

Your turn!

BTW, I like your signature :D

The 'Cancel Quidditch' part? or the Doctor Banner part? or ... ?

YAY! I guess maybe he did sort of get squashed .... (the gatekeeper).

Okay ... hmmmm. Who said this and when and where?

"Lembas. Elvish waybread. One small bite is enough to fill the stomach of a grown man."
"How many did you eat?"
"Four." (belch)

That's Legolas, Merry and Pippin (in that particular order) in and around a boat when they make ready to leave Lothlórien.

And I meant the Doctor Banner part.

That is absolutely correct, Ravariel!

Ah ... yes.

<3 Dr Banner and Tony Stark, their interaction(s). I think Mr. Stark is the only person around not intimidated by .. the BIG guy.

:D

The victory is for us all to celebrate,
yet it means a loss to me that I must bear alone.
Eternity should have held together what is now parted for eternity.
And still, when I see the good it brings, I smile.

Missed again I'm afraid... though your answers so far weren't all that far off. Maybe I was too imprecise?

Elrond?

Precisely. When the victory over Sauron was celebrated, Arwen's wedding to Aragorn pretty much followed suit, meaning that Elrond lost his daughter to mortality - until the end of the world, as it is. But he did smile when he watched them hug :D

I could rationalize all of them ... to fit into your prose. Hmmm. But yeah, I can see where your explanation fits Elrond best.

Okay.... mostly because this was such a vivid impression and so well done in the movie --

Maybe it seemed cleared to me because I pay a lot of attention to Elrond ^_^

Aaand... that would be Gollum, I guess.

I'll take over again if no one has replied in about three weeks, when the semester's over
