Re: Write-up segments for weekends and forum activities

The Snitch Tournament has finally ended, and with it, the Quidditch World Cup - in a thrilling reversal of 1994! Fifty-five minutes into the final match, Arielle Lemoyne of Bulgaria beat out Amy Lupin of Ireland to the final Golden Snitch of the tournament, avenging her loss in the semifinals of las...

Re: Scenes of Terror at the Quidditch World Cup

Remember that "tomorrow" ( Saturday, October 1 ) will feature a DOUBLE-HEADER to celebrate as summer turns to fall! First, at 2:30 PM HOL in #snitch we will have the deciding match of the Quidditch World Cup from the summer: in a rematch of a match from the semifinals of last year's Snitch...

Quidditch Pickups... the 2017-18 Edition

Now that summer is gone and fall is here, it's time to get back into our #quidditch pickups! The first pickup of the season will be on Sunday, October 1 at 9 PM HOL at the usual place, #quidditch!

Re: Official Quidditch Schedule, 2017-2018

2017-2018 MVP winners: November 11: Prof. Zenix James <@WillLiam> The MVP award this game was unusually hard to give; plenty of new and returning faces gave exciting performances today. <@WillLiam> But for coming out of retirement to keep up with every player on the opposing defense, <@WillLiam> an...

Re: Official Quidditch Schedule, 2017-2018

House points are different from game points. The game points are posted above and here are the House Points that will be added to the points of the Houses. This will be edited after each game. November 11: Hufflepuff - 400; Gryffindor - 100 December 16: Hufflepuff - 150; Slytherin - 350 January 13: ...

Re: Week 6-Moving Forward

I'm hoping to see Slytherin win a House Cup after coming so close these past two years. As for NEWTs? I'm already sitting my OWLs... so I figure that once those are behind me, I definitely plan on graduating! And after that, it might be time to become a professor (I'll probably teach a class or 2 wh...

Re: Week 5-Magical Games and Sports

In real life I'd probably be rubbish at Quidditch; my coordination and visualization skills are weak PRECISELY in those areas that would be needed for a broom-based flying sport. Fortunately, my character is not so crippled; as Will Lestrange I'd totally be a Quidditch star playing whatever position...

Re: Week 4-Pets

My pet is a six foot long python named Coily. I love talking to her about my day and hearing her advice in Parseltongue (a language I speak pretty well; most Lestranges get practice with the language from their childhood... since we're not lucky enough to inherit it we have to work for it!) Coily gi...

Re: Week 4-Awesome Awards

I don't think I won a shiny for it, but I'm probably proudest of winning the Snitch tournament in 2015! For actual awards I've won? The logic puzzle awards I won in fall 2013 were pretty nice, as were most of my Quidditch awards (though the matches I get MVP for do not tend to be the ones I'd give m...

Re: College Football Season 2017

This season looked like it was going to be a train wreck as far as I was concerned, with the UCLA Bruins being destroyed by Texas A&M for much of the game (38-10 at the half, and the Aggies would score 6 more points to start off the third). But UCLA pulled off a spectacular comeback with five un...

Re: Week 2-Classes

I know I'm taking OWLs (and assisting Ancient Civilizations again) so I might want to make an easier/less essay intensive selection! Anyway, I'm thinking of: two OWL related classes: -Astronomy -Charms two fun Slytherin-taught classes I haven't taken yet: -Introduction to Sign Language -Typography B...

Re: Week 1-What Brings you Here?

My name is Will Lestrange and I'm a fifth year Slytherin Prefect. As most people who know me probably know, I joined HOL specifically to play Quidditch (which I have indeed done - at all four positions) after Quidditch elsewhere on the Internet died out in a few other places. This year, I'm looking ...

Re: Write-up segments for weekends and forum activities

Last Saturday saw the final meeting of the Irish and Bulgarian sides on the Quidditch pitch; just like the first match of the summer, it was to be a Quaffle match. Just like the last Quaffle match, it almost didn't happen until Katelin Ross of Bulgaria volunteered her services as a Quijudge referee ...

Re: HOL Appreciation Month - GOLD SPIRIT AWARD

-Earn at least 3500 points (this might be my best chance at 4000, but 3500 is much more realistic as a goal) -Pass at least eight OWLs, with the majority of my attempted OWLs at "Outstanding" -Induct a new member into SQT ("dominate at Quidditch" isn't quite measurable enough) -G...
