Re: Snitch Sign-Up

I'm playing!

The best time for me is weekdays 7pm-midnight CST which would be... 1am-6am HOL time. But my schedule is flexible enough that if I had to be available at a different time, I could make it work.

Re: Summer Plans

I'm pretty much just continuing life as a grad student (finally collecting data!) and, more importantly, life as a dog owner. I legit have more things planned to do with my dog than to do with other people >> I'm excited to experience summer in this town though! And I found out that a few people I k...

Re: Reality TV

I used to love The Amazing Race and The Biggest Loser. And once upon a time, I used to watch The Apprentice and For Love or For Money with my mom. Other than that, I hardly keep up with any shows, reality or non-reality. I watch clips of Dancing with the Stars every now and then though, and they're ...

Re: Time around the world (Tell us what time it is and what you’re doing at this very moment)

HOL says it's 2:17 pm and here it's 8:17am. I just woke up not too long ago, and I'm sitting in my rocking chair thinking about what I want to have for breakfast and deciding whether I want to head into the office early or work on things at home for a little. And stressing a little about what to do ...

Podcasts

I love listening to podcasts on long runs, road trips, or while doing things at work that I don't have to think about (i.e. data entry). My favorite podcasts are This American Life, Radiolab, and Welcome to Nightvale. Any other fans of those?? Has anyone listened to "Alice isn't Dead"? It's a new po...

Re: What is Your Dream Country?

I'd love to visit both Ireland and New Zealand! My dream country is Chile, which is maybe cheating since I did study abroad there for several months, but I definitely fantasized about just staying there and I think about going back a lot. I'm not really sure what it is either. Maybe all this time in...

Re: What a coincidence!

Oh wow, those are kind of sad.

I have another one! I was at a conference last weekend, and somebody I didn't know sat down at my dinner table. We started talking and found that we had the same first name, were both marathon runners, and were both vegan!

Re: Attention Pranksters!

We had a prank that was hiding a watermelon in various places for a friend to find...like he goes to grab his field equipment, and there's a watermelon there, and then when he gets out to the truck, the watermelon is sitting on the seat. Comes back to the lab, pulls out his chair, there's the waterm...

Re: What's on Your Bucket List?

I'd like to see the Grand Canyon and travel around Europe, too! I don't have too much of a bucket list beyond that haha I mostly just have a list of places I want to go. I think it would be really cool to visit every state in the United States! And I especially want to see Niagara Falls and Yosemite.

What a coincidence!

Maybe I just have coincidences on my mind because I listened to This American Life's coincidence episode again, but I've been having a bunch lately! -I went out to dinner with a friend, then we went on like a 30 minute walk to a different part of town, walked around there for awhile, and finally dec...

Re: Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders

The original Criminal Minds is one of my favorites! I think it's one of only two shows of which I've seen every episode. I've never gotten too enthused about spin offs, but I'll give this one a try! Especially since it's coming on right after haha I might as well keep watching.

Re: Movies for Valentine's Day

My favorites are "He's Just Not That Into You," "Dirty Dancing," and "Silver Linings Playbook." Maybe I'll watch all of them today! Or maybe I'll watch some that I've never seen before.

And The Notebook - I've only seen it once, but I loved it!

Favorite Musicals

What are some of your favorites musicals? It's really hard for me to pick mine - I always end up with a list of like 15 if I try to start naming them. The ones I worked on in high school - Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Wizard of Oz - will always have a special p...

Mockingjay Part 2

I don't know about anyone else, but I almost forgot this was coming out until a couple weeks ago. It's been about 5 years since I read the books, but I still wanted to go see it. I think overall, the excitement has just sort of worn off. I hardly remember the book at all, so I can't even compare it ...

Re: Hamilton!

OMG YES!!! I'm so obsessed too! I've listened to it at least like 20 times by now, and I still notice a new line each time. I was listening at work and started cracking up at "Should we honor our treaty, king louie's head? Uh do whatever you want, I'm super dead!" Tried to explain to my coworkers, n...
