Re: Week 4-Awesome Awards

I do like a pretty shiny! Like Sirius said, it's like a bonus, more than something I chase after. So far, I only have one, the award for finishing the Summer Reading Challenge. I'm quite proud of it because although I used to be an avid reader, my ability to concentrate has diminished over the years...

Re: Siblings!

I have one younger sister and four younger brothers. Technically two of my brothers and my sister are half siblings, but that whole concept just seems silly. I also have a younger cousin who I count as my little sister.

Re: Week 4-Pets

On HOL I have a little owl named Yoyo. She's very sweet and affectionate, but she does have quite a taste for beans - burnt toffee flavour is her favourite. She hasn't been in her cage since I picked her up this summer, she prefers to sleep on my bookcase and visit the owlery in the day time in the ...

Re: No! Don't kill them! (Character you cried over most)

Sirius' death was the one that hit me the hardest reading the books. I think because he was the first character I cared about (sorry Cedric) to die. I don't think I cried, hardhearted little nine year old that I was, but it definitely got to me. Many hours were spent re-imagining a different outcome...

Re: Vegans/Vegetarians Unite!

I was raised vegetarian and still am. I have gone through periods of being strictly vegan, usually at times when I've had massive food issues, but I'm currently just vegetarian. I am planning on cutting out dairy again, because ethically I can't justify it and it doesn't make my body feel good. I mi...

Re: Week 3-Study Spaces

http://i63.tinypic.com/1zlf6tf.jpg Firstly, apologies for the sketchiness of the picture, it’s been a while since I’ve tried to draw backgrounds! My ideal study space is a hidden balcony in the Hogwarts library – of course it has reading balconies, it’s Hogwarts. It's tucked away above people’s hea...

Re: Week 3-Filling Your Free Time

Sachiko, I love how much effort you put into your answer! I was similar when I was at school, the only hobby I did have was writing. At Hogwarts It would be hard to pull myself out of the library. So many books to read in only seven years! I would spend a fair bit of time in the first week or two ex...

Re: First o’ September

I feel a bit bad for going through them all so fast, but the tasks were an excellent anxiety busting distraction! Also, I'm a Ravenclaw, when I get stuck into something, I have to see it through. Sorry you don't want to do the Soduku Kate, can you message Tarma or Polaris and see if you're allowed t...

A little late, but my goals for the year:

* Earn 1500 House Points for Ravenclaw
* Earn at least 3 Quills
* Participate in at least 1 HOL wide activity
* Help organise 1 activity in Ravenclaw

Re: September – Story

I was so nervous on my first day this year. It came around so fast, I applied to do Nursing a few short weeks before the start of term and somehow managed to survive the interview get in. I arrived with my hastily packed rucksack full of doubts about whether I had really made the right decision. I’m...

https://image.ibb.co/gKvOya/Back_to_school_HOLLER_photo.jpg I am that person who studies with their books spread across the floor. Water bottle and tea, as have been mentioned are absolutely essential! Pencil case full of colourful biros, note pad, and I'd be lost without my file dividers! Leaver a...

Re: Nineteen Years Later-SPOILERS!!

Happy Nineteen Years Later! I'm slightly gutted not to be on my way to Kings Cross right now. Given that I have only read the epilogue once and then listened to it once, I was surprised by how much I did remember. The only thing I had forgotten was Albus' fear of Thestrals. I'm going to be completel...

Re: Week 1-Ask Me...

A vintage Silver Arrow. If it's good enough for Madam Hooch it's obviously the broom to be had!

If you could only have one, would you rather have the Marauders map or the invisibility cloak?

Re: Week 2-Classes

I'm finding it hard to narrow it down! I know I can't do too many classes, because I have too much Muggle Studying to be getting on with. I'm trying to limit myself to two, but it's proving difficult. I know I want to do Ancient Runes , but I'm torn between Dance Academy: Ballet , Steampunk 101 and ...

Re: Favourite Characters in Fiction

Lyra Silvertongue in His Dark Materials (Northern Lights, The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass) is still my absolute favourite character, despite all the books I have read since meeting her back when I was a precocious nine year old. I have just reread the Northern Lights and fallen in love with Lyr...

Re: Dystopias and Similar

I don’t know if you have already read some of the more classic dystopias, but I have finally got around to reading Clockwork Orange this summer and it fits the bill. The protagonist, Alex is a 15-year-old boy and it’s written in first person from his perspective, which makes it all the more intense....

Re: Week 1-Ask Me...

That's difficult, I think apparition for the most part because I'm impatient and if I want to get somewhere I want to be there now. But if I wasn't going anywhere in particular then flying, I just think it would be so relaxing. I would want a cushioning charm on my broom though! Would you take a pet...
