What movie coming in out in 2018 are you most excited for?

I am a big movie fanatic and with spring just around the corner I have been looking at the new upcoming movies for 2018. The reason I do this in spring is because I look forward to getting out of the house after being cooped up so long from all the cold weather. There are a lot of movies coming out ...

Re: Week 2 - Discussion: Do Audio books recreate the Magic of Communal Storytelling?

Like Tarma, this topic has been on my mind this week so I decided to look up some articles and thoughts on the subject. I found an interesting blog post called "The Resurgence of Oral Storytelling: the Audio Book" by Nina Munteanu on the Scribophile blog. Nina talks about about the traditi...

Re: Week 2 - Discussion: Do Audio books recreate the Magic of Communal Storytelling?

Professor Gus's memory actually reminded me of a childhood memory for me and an untraditional audio book. My grandfather was not able to read. It made him so upset because he was a very religious man and wanted to be able to read it so bad that my grandmother always read it to him. One day, I was pr...

Re: Week 1 - Discussion: How do you read?

I have just gotten back into using Goodreads this year. I have joined a couple of book reading challenges this year since I haven't been very good about reading lately. I have used Goodreads to have a list of books to read for the challenges so I can see my progress. It appears to be working so far ...

Re: Week 1 - Discussion: How do you read?

I actually have a little bit of a ritual when it comes to reading that I just developed about a month ago. The first ritual I have, I actually started when I was young, and that was to read the last chapter first before I read the book. I picked up the habit from my mother who would always read the ...

Re: The Name Game

I would love to have heard Robin Williams do the reading of Frank L. Baum's Oz Books. Robin Williams was amazing at character voices and he did an impressive Wizard of Oz in 30 seconds. I would love to have seen what would happen if he had a lot of time to do the voices. Who would you like to hear r...

Super Bowl LII

So, the Super Bowl is just around the corner here in the United States. Even though I don't normally watch football games throughout the season, I do try to watch the Super Bowl every year. My husband does not like football so I tend to watch the game alone while he goes off and does something else....

Re: What is Your Dream Country?

My dream country to visit and live in would be Japan! I just love Japanese culture and food. I am so jealous of my friends who have been there to visit and put up the most amazing pictures on Facebook. Maybe someday I can go and visit the Miyazaki studio! It is definitely on my bucket list.

Re: Where are they now?

I think this is the struggle for a LOT of actors. I know Harrison Ford was and is quite angry that he made Star Wars and Indiana Jones because he felt that he became type casted in that type of role. I am not a Harrison Ford fan. I am more impressed with those actors that are able to break out of th...

Re: Nobel Prizes

As someone who is interesting in art, I would create a Nobel Prize for the world of art. Art is able to touch people in a special way just like music can so why not include art. There are so many artists out there that make wonderful pieces and I think they deserve some recognition too.

Re: What's your boggart?

So, as weird as it may sound, the only fear that I have is of the unknown. I would be very interested to see how that turned into a boggart. The only thing I can think of is there being a kind of "dark opening" like in the space movies that could have something come out or leading to an un...

Re: Favorite Real Life Class

My favorite online class was my college mythology class. I started reading Greek myths at an early age because I was not a fan of fairy tales. I was always fascinated by the ideas of gods and fantasy creatures like sirens. I was introduced to The Odyssey in that class along with the Aeneid and many ...

Re: Snow Days!

We actually had a nice snow day last week! I wanted to make a snowman but I do not like going out in the cold since I HATE shoes. If you ever met me, you would discover that I was wearing flip flops. I ONLY wear flip flops even when there is snow on the ground and yes I often get snow on my feet and...

It is hard to pick just one school but I would have to say that I would have to chose Mahoutokoro as the school I would want to visit the most. I have always loved anything that has to do with Japan and oriental cultures. I am a huge fan of Japanese architecture so I can only imagine the beauty of M...
