Re: Drabble Babble 2018/19 Edition

The Drabble Babble Challenge Drabble (n.) = "an extremely short work of fiction of exactly one hundred words in length" One theme will be announced per issue. Participants will then write a small piece of fiction (or non-fiction) about that theme. What's the catch? The submission must be a drabble!...

Re: Potter Pronunciations

Names are the bane of my existence! I read the four firat books in another language which meant I read all names to be pronounced like this other language would call for them to be pronounced. Mostly Hermione changed A LOT in my mind, but I do think of her name 'correctly' when I read and think if i...

Audio Book Narrators

When reading a book, the 'voice' of the author is very important for my enjoyment of the book, but recently I've gotten back into hearing a lot of audio books and I've noticed that there the voice of the narrator adds another dimension to the story as well as the author's voice. For instance a book ...

Moving Advice

I will be moving to a new house very soon and with preparing to do so I've noticed there are a lot of unexpected things I need to remember to pack and a lot of things I need to do. And people always like giving advice which I very much appreciate because they have done this before and I only have on...

Re: Holiday Decorating

I love decorating for Christmas. That's my favourite holiday to decorate for - and also the only one where I go FULL out on it. I put up a lot of ornaments in red - gnomes and santa's helpers, candy cane baubles, miniature weaved reed shoes, and lots of other similar thing as well as glass icicles a...

Re: Week 4 - Creative

My defining moment has to be the time I became an outlaw. I used to be an earl you see, so becoming an outlaw was not exactly in the cards for me. When I was a young man, I fell in love with a fair maiden and she loved me back and when I asked for her hand in marriage, she agreed. But there was anot...

Re: Week 4 - Roleplay

Robin Hood Robin appreciated the fact that Hiccup understood that this was not a skill one could learn to perfect in a short time, but he still wanted to show him how to best do it. "It's not important how good you are" he said, "it's important that you're willing to work on it so you get better. Th...

Re: Week 4 - Roleplay

Robin Hood Robin hadn't spoken with this curious fellow [Hiccup] before, but he seemed interested to learn and he'd not be one to deny anyone that chance - certainly not someone who didn't look like they were one of the sheriff's men. "I am quite good" he said, underplaying it severely, but not want...

Re: Week 4 - Roleplay

Robin Hood That was an unexpected turn of events: Usually people were only too happy to accuse him of just about any crime that had been committed anywhere in the vicinity whether he had in fact done it or not. To be cleared quite that easily was very unexpected. The next idea was far less disconcer...

Re: Week 3 - Creative

Robin Hood's head quarters is not a building and as such there are not really much to describe about the layout of it. Instead it is beneath a great oak in Sherwood Forest. There are of course also other trees around and when the weather turns cold or wet he and his gang construct temporary shelters...

Re: Week 3 - Roleplay

Robin Hood Robin nodded and when he saw Will make a move towards the bar he followed him, realising he too could use something to drink after all that had already happened here. Something there smelled wonderful and he breathed in deeply, for a moment absorbed more by finding out what that was than ...

Re: Week 3 - Roleplay

Robin Hood Robin kept his ears open for other conversation too though, particularly the one between the law enforcement. People like that were always worth keeping an eye on when it came to stealing in his experience. And these two seemed just a little bit too eager to find someone else to blame; th...

Re: Week 3 - Roleplay

Robin Hood Robin made his way closer to the one that had spoken about others being just as likely to have taken the Ring as them [Will Turner]. At least that one seemed to have his head on right and he didn't look as strange to Robin as many of the others here. "I think your ideas are likely to be r...

Re: Week 2 - Roleplay

Robin Hood Robin had stopped speaking much after saying his bit and was instead watching the people around him. He noticed a woman [Mulan] whom he hadn't noticed speaking yet, but she seemed like she had been just about to just a moment ago. And what was more, she looked like someone whose options h...

Re: Week 2 - Creative

You don't actually need that much. It's far more important to be fast and be able to hide well if you need to. Of course you do need a bow - it works well for both securing dinner and making sure you yourself can get out of trouble if you need to. Other than that of course some food would be good, b...

Re: Week 2 - Roleplay

Robin Hood Robin nodded at what Lara said. It made her at least likely to be one of the people on the side of good. Like he never robbed people of everything they had if they willingly opened their purses when he demanded it. Then he only took what they could spare for the pood. Lara, in donating, d...
