Re: Lesson 2 Inbox: Turn in Homework Here

I used the grid format for my outline. Here is my original, handwritten outline that I drafted out while at work (oops…) I find handwritten helps me with notes and outlines, there’s something more organic about it for me.

Re: Lesson 1 Inbox: Turn in Homework Here

ASSIGNMENT 1 I fooled around with some generators to throw my imagination some wildcards, but in the end, I chose the idea that was more closely modeled from my own experiences. Story cards helped me to marry details from real-life experiences to supernatural elements. Summary: A kid and their fathe...

Re: Lesson 1 Discussion

Heeey, spitballing. I feel like I have some fertile ground with one idea, but I'm still feeling around for something that gives me a little more direction. I seem to be real good at setting up scenarios, but not characters' problems or wants, something that would fold into a plot that threads throug...

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hello, everyone! I'm Reggy, a second year Hufflepuff. I'd taken a break from HOL stuff for a while, and wanted to get back into the swing of things with one class, Ancient Alchemy... when I saw this class was being offered. So I just had to take it, too. :P I used to be more in the habit of writing,...

Re: NaNoWriMo

Yay, join the writing party! Good luck on your exam! I think I'm a plantser, too. I start out pantsing, but I have notes of running commentary to myself in a side document where I pitch ideas and sketch out plans for the main work. It's a sweet spot between having a plan to follow and being able to ...

Yea, go for it, Lucy! More and more I'm finding there is no "perfect time" to write, you just have to go after it. Even if you don't "win", participating in itself is worth it! I haven't looked too much into finding a local write-in. Mostly I've just been communicating with friends who are taking on...

It's finally here, 2016 NaNoWriMo! Anyone tackling the challenge this year?

(I've already fallen behind the recommended wordcount, mumbles to self...)

Re: What’s your Myers-Briggs personality type??

I'm so glad there's a Myers-Briggs thread!

I'm INFP (and have always tested as INFP), but I like to think my Ne is pretty developed and that I can come off as ENFP at times. I don't know how true that really is, though. :P
I was definitely very Luna Lovegood-ish as a kid, definitely.

Re: Patronus Quiz

I'm happy that there is such a large variety of animals! I guess I had been expecting some more generic results, but I'm really impressed with the vast array of answers I've been hearing from folks. I got an Ibizan Hound, a very beautiful dog I hadn't heard about before (I don't know many breeds). D...

Re: Homecoming at the Sett

I really liked seeing people's old homework! It was really cool to see the effort and the fun that went into them. Hearing about the House Cup Dynasty got me really pumped to work toward getting the Cup back again! Especially since there were folks at the reunion who were a part of that dynasty... I...

I'm definitely giving it a shot this November! I haven't tried since 2009, and I'm excited to tackle it again! I had a great experience with the camp this past July. I love being a part of a community of writers all working on their projects, and having the (exhilarating) pressure to write.

My Own Worst Enemy and Fatlip are such a good songs!

Recently, Hold On, Hold On by Neko Case has basically been haunting me.

Honorable mentions include Whatever Happened To My Rock 'N' Roll by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and Dare to Dream by Radclyffe-Hall.

Ohh everyone has such cool stories behind their names!

I've been going by Reggy for a looong time, and it just feels like me. Then I thought of the first last name I could that starts with F, the same first letter of my surname. And ta-da, Reggy Faraday!

Re: Even more 'Harry Potter'? Pottermore Presents

I'm wondering about the term "bite-sized" ebooks, like how bite-sized do they mean? How hungry will I be after I read them? I'd like a Harry Potter meal, thank you! Although, I guess this is kind of like an appetizer for Fantastic Beasts in November. The covers look fantastic, though!! I do wi...

Oh man, the cryptogram was so much fun!! As were the dingbats, even though I messed one of them up. The last week's tasks were hard for me because I am not a numbers person at all , but the rest of my team were so supportive and worked super hard to make up for that, and for a team member who was on...

I hadn't heard about this!! I'm glad Niantic is getting a lot of interest now, they make cool games. The overlay of virtual reality in Ingress and Pokemon Go onto real-world maps and places is really well done, and it seems like they keep inventing more ways to interact on both these levels in their...

I wasn't super excited about Pokemon Go until my friend kept talking about all the people he'd met playing it, and he made it sound so fun that I had to give it a try. I've spent the past two weeks playing this game at every available moment! I don't get out to busier areas often, so I've most...

Re: What Classes Do You Want To See Happen This Year Coming Up?

A Pokemon class would be interesting, especially since Pokemon Go has come out!

I'd also love a class that looks at how magic works across several different fictional universes, where these tropes may come from, stuff like that.

Hi, Harmony! It's nice to meet you!

I've heard of HIH, but I've never really been a part of a Hogwarts site that wasn't HOL (even though I didn't have an account here when I was younger). It looks interesting, though! The layout looks a bit like Pottermore.
