Re: Book Review: Stardust

Thanks, Arianna. I think this is a fine book to add to my re-read stack. It's too bad we cannot use it for a Monthly Book Discussion. It had been recommended, but when we looked at it, some of the content is inappropriate for HOL. That's actually why I read it for my summer reading! I figured it wo...

Harry Potter Look-Alikes

So I watch this show called iZombie (it's on Netflix, highly recommend!!). In Season 3 Episode 9 they are investigating the murder of a Dungeon Master and question all of the players in his campaign. We met Steve earlier in the season and he reminds me so much of Snape (especially A Very Potter Musi...

Re: Whose Stone is it Anyway?

For me, I don't think I would have read about the philosopher's stone. That gives me images of a thinker, Greek society, and boring information. Sorcerer tells me magic is involved, and if Disney's Fantasia had taught me anything, it's that magic and sorcerers make things waaay more interesting! Tha...

Growing Up Harry Potter

As you may or may not know, my husband and I are expecting our first child (literally any day now! She's due June 22). Shortly after she's born were are moving, so we haven't done any kind of nursery decorating yet! We have several Harry Potter onesies, wall art and obviously the books. What kind of...

Re: Questions

i did; should i try submitting the quills again? Update: I went to check to see if I could try submitting the quills again but the names of those I submitted quills for are no longer listed for me to try again; but their names also don't show up in the "review." I just had another student ...

Re: Questions

There's still time to turn things in, I don't intend to close it until closer to the deadline they gave us, I just wanted people to see where they stood in my classes. I know the issue itself isn't a class committee thing, but if there are issues with me submitting quills they might be able to fix t...

Re: Questions

I'm guessing its a Head Office thing. The class isn't closed yet, I think it just says its closed for you since I've awarded you both quills. Since he term isn't over yet i'm thinking it'll show up in the next week, but keep an eye on it so we can let the class committee know if it doesn't show up

Re: June - National Chocolate Ice Cream Day

There is a place near me that has this amazing ice cream shop and my favorite thing to get is the "S'mores Mug." Its vanilla w/chocolate swirl ice cream topped with hot fudge. Then they put marshmallow fluff and pretzel sticks on top and light it on fire! Bonus, you get to keep the mug it ...

Re: Square dance

Most of my elementary years were in Colorado, and it was always a part of gym class every year. I love square dancing and line dancing! I'm not a great dancer so any dance like these (or the chicken dance, the cha-cha slide, etc) that have instructions/specific dances are my favorite! I remember hav...

Re: Lesson Five: Other Puzzles

It has been tricky for others as well, and I may consider adjusting it for next term, but for now i promise it is solvable! There is some guesswork involved, but ultimately it DOES form a picture! If you start it and send me what you get to i can tell you if you're on the right track and give you so...
