Re: Cursed Child Movie?

I don't think he's needed; after all, he didn't play baby Harry, so why should he need to play 40 year old Harry? (Especially since we'd need to wait to 2026-2029 for him to be the "right age"). Plus, with a new Harry, we might have a chance to properly match his eye color!

Re: Revival of Quidditch Pickups

This evening, we had a great turnout on the Quidditch pitch! Eight people showed up (representing three Houses), of which six actually played in our little games! The following people showed up (a * after your name means you played): Prof. Arielle Lemoyne * Aurelia West * Kendra Givens Katelin Ross ...

Re: Revival of Quidditch Pickups

Despite the bots acting up last afternoon (to the point that Parseltongue was required to tame them), last afternoon's Quidditch events were a rousing success. We had ten people show up, of which seven (including all four houses and at least one brand new player) actually played in at least one of o...

Re: Revival of Quidditch Pickups

Last evening was a chilly, dark, rainy night (fraught with chilly mist) with Dementors circling the pitch. Despite that, we still had representatives from three of the four houses come out to play: Prof. Arielle Lemoyne Kendra Givens Prof. Tarma Amelia Black Will Lestrange We began with a round of &...

Re: Revival of Quidditch Pickups

Re: Revival of Quidditch Pickups

It was a very interesting night for Quidditch this evening; we saw some new blood, which is always great - and 3 houses were represented! The following people showed up: Blade J. Johnson Kendra Goyle Prof. Scarlet Leslie-Lewis Prof. Tarma Amelia Black Will Lestrange The theme for this time was "...

Re: Share your spring moments

Spring's been a bit weird here: February was warm enough that a 90s song by Sophie B. Hawkins could have been played nearly every day ("it felt like springtime on this February morning") and the flowers started thinking it was spring. Then came a Pi Day snowstorm in the middle of March and...

Re: Revival of Quidditch Pickups

Upon reflection, 8 PM HOL may not have been the best time for a weekend pickup match. While 3 houses were represented, we had a fairly low turnout. The following people showed up: Prof. Arielle Lemoyne Maxim Trevelyan Prof. Tarma Amelia Black Will Lestrange and for the first time in a long time, the...

Re: Snow Day!

We got 3 inches in my neighborhood which gave me the day off. So I slept in, worked out, and went to a cafe which was listed as having one of the tastiest hot chocolates in Virginia (and it did). Then I caught a great view outside, did a bit of Quidditch, and made it out onto an island 3 or 4 miles ...

Re: Revival of Quidditch Pickups

Despite the different time, date, and time zone, we had an identical list of people show up this time as last time (and don't worry, I finally brought my proper broom to the occasion ;)). Leadership: random thoughts

During my time in HOL, I've had the chance to take on a few roles with strong leadership elements (even if I've never been the "person ultimately in charge"). I've seen all sorts of types of leaders and leadership styles both here in HOL and in real life as well. As such, I pose the follow...

Re: Revival of Quidditch Pickups

Today's pickups had a slightly different assortment of players than usual, and the match wins the award for the match where I most strongly wished I had brought a better broom. The following 5 people showed up: Prof. Arielle Lemoyne Prof. Cody Lewis Prof. Scarlet Leslie-Lewis Prof. Tarma Amelia Blac...

Re: Questions

I was looking at Assignment 2, which the syllabus says is due on March 31 for the spring term (and October 31 for the fall). However, the assignment itself gives a different due date: "Due - Oct. 31/Feb. 28". I assume the March 31 date is the correct one? Otherwise, the first two assignmen...

The Quidditch Handbook has been updated to include conceding!

Conceding is a way for teams to end lopsided matches early without forfeiting their House points.

Re: Wand-Making Introduction Post

My name is Will Lestrange and I'm a fourth year Slytherin. I'm a Prefect and a Quidditch Captain in my house, as well as fairly active on the Quidditch Board (though I'm pretty sure that Tarma already knows that ;)). As for my blood status? You can see "Lestrange" on the list of the Sacred...

Re: Revival of Quidditch Pickups

Quidditch pickup sessions are often times to experiment and try things out before risking embarrassment or failure in a regular season game, and today's pickup was no exception. First off, though: we had people from each house show up! The following five people played: Prof. Arielle Lemoyne Bull J. ...
