Re: Filling our Spaces with Books

My apartment is unfortunately not filled items of memorabilia, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want it to be. I think my perfect set up would be light blue (with sparkles!) bedding draped with a Ravenclaw throw blanket and a white throw pillow with the Always quote and another that said Accio Books...

Re: Favorite Songs

I have so many favorite songs! Right now the list would be: Open Your Eyes - Bea Miller Satisfied - Hamilton Music of the Night - Phantom of the Opera Safe and Sound - Taylor Swift ft. The Civil Wars Castle on the Hill - Ed Sheeran Hallelujah - Leonard Cohen There's Nothing Holding Me Back - Shawn M...

Re: Favorite Type Of Music

I like so many different types of music, but my favorite will always be classical. I was raised on it. I'm also a fan of jazz. I think any sort of music that I can dance to is at the top of my list, and I'm not meaning hip hop or dance/electronic, although both can be great, but I prefer music that ...

Re: Favorite Musicals

I have way too many to name! Phantom of the Opera is definitely at the top of my list. Hamilton is up there right now as well. I also really like Cats, Wicked, Billy Elliot, West Side Story, The Lion King, Rent, Next to Normal, and Aida. There are so many others! Most of my favorite musicals are pro...

Re: Hamilton!

Hamilton is only always going through my head right now. I can't get Schuyler Sisters, Helpless, My Shot or Satisfied out of my head. I recently even recorded Satisfied, even though it has that rap in there and I can't rap, but I was told it sounded good. I was able to see it a while back and instan...

Re: What Music Did You Grow Up With?

I spent a lot of time growing up in the ballet studio, so most of the music I heard was classical based. I still listen to classical music even now. My parents got me hooked on it before I even started at the academy. They would use it in my room at night to help me sleep as a baby, we would play it...

Re: What Are You Listening To...?

I have an entire playlist of music that I'm currently listening to, but I seem to keep floating back to Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, and Norah Jones. For me, these artists are relaxing, easy to study to, (not so easy to read to), and the music can be motivating to get things done. They make for n...

Re: Do You Play An Instrument?

I am able to play the piano and took lessons from the age of six. I don't play as much since I graduated high school, but I do have two keyboards now at my apartment that were gifted to me. I was also gifted three acoustic guitars and an electric guitar. I don't know how to play them very well yet, ...

Book Title: Fahrenheit 451 Author: Ray Bradbury Genre: Science Fiction, Classics Bradbury has so much to say in only 190 pages, and I have to say, that I agree with him. Book Review: Cinder

Book Title: Cinder Author: Marissa Meyer Series: The Lunar Chronicles (#1) Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy To be honest, I'm surprised there isn't a review posted for this yet. It seems to be a rather popular book, and I am now in on the hype as well. Below is my short review on this book without giving...

Book Review: After the Crash

Book Title: After the Crash Author: Michel Bussi Genre: Mystery How can I describe the amazing mystery writing of this book? I do like a good mystery, but I have generally been able to call the ending of the mystery books I read. Everything always follows some sort of similar outline. For this book,...

Book Review: Projekt 1065

Book Title: Project 1065 Author: Alan Gratz Genre: Historical Fiction, Young Adult This was a very good read, although not enough to make my favorites list. It was also a very fast read. I did like that it gave importance to the fact that children were a large part of World War II and the way the Na...

Re: Book Review: Ready Player One

I finally finished this book, and I think what I liked the most was the trivia aspect of it. I love scavenger hunts. In fact, most activities that I create have some sort of scavenger hunt attached to them. In this case, it's a treasure hunt. The set up really reminded me of an anime a friend made m...

Book Lovers Day

Today in the United States is National Book Lovers Day. Who would have thought we would get our own special day to celebrate our obsession and love for books? How cool is that? What do you plan on doing to celebrate, if anything? I think I will spend most of the day reading and only running a couple...
