Re: What happened to Lavender? possible spoiler

From just a brief bit of looking around on the web, I've found that the movie decided to declare her deceased, according to a Harry Potter Wiki. But, no there's nothing really concrete about it in the books. I suppose I could agree with her being dead since she was never a character I gravitated tow...

Re: PBTeen

I took a brief look. Alot of it was a bit junior for me, but I did adore the Snitch clock! Probably my favorite thing they had available.

Re: Book Bingo - Questions

Question, how dark of a book can we go? I sometimes struggle with knowing where the line between HOL appropriate and not is.Plus, Stephen King could tackle at least one of the categories on my card.

Re: No! Don't kill them! (Character you cried over most)

Hmmm, what was the hardest death for me? I'm thinking Remus and Tonks are up there. I always really connected to Remus and I love that he had found someone and Tonks was so cool. It felt like it was all coming together and..then it was over. I think that was the saddest death. Hardest one was actual...

Re: Book Reading Challenges

Aww, I'm sorry to have missed that Reading Quest, it sounds like it would have been fun. Maybe they'll do it again next year? I used to do the summer reading thing when I was a kid, but I haven't really done any since. But I'm thinking I might start looking for some of those things to help me boost ...

Re: New Fall Shows: What's On Your List?

Most of mine are returning shows, particularly both NCIS and NCIS: New Orleans. I'm worried about Hawaii 5-0 because they lost two of their original people, and some of the casting decisions don't make sense right now. Plus, I keep feeling like the end is near for that show. Actual new shows I'm goi...

Re: TV Show Revivals

*revives the thread* I'm not sure how I feel persay...I haven't had the urge to watch a sequel/revival show of one I watched when I was younger. At the same time, I'm a fan of a show that's a reboot of an oldie, Hawaii 5-0. I think ultimately for me, it feels a little more like cashing in on an easy...

*level 80 human engineer walks in, lighting up a bomb to awaken the thread* Although my new necro might have worked better for a dead thread, lol. But mostly, I'm looking to see if anyone else has started playing the game. How is everyone liking the Heart of Thrones expansion? Looking forward to the...

Re: Movie Adaptations of Books

I'll join you in the "LOTR movies are better then the books' camp! I think because at least some of the...extra detail work was skimmed down for the movie, so it was easier to follow the plot. At least that was my problem reading it. One movie adaptation I kinda want to see is "Bridge to T...

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Finally watched this a few months ago, so I can finally review it. (Still haven't seen Episode 7 though :( ) Don't know if I have to still do spoilers, but warning at least? I actually really enjoyed it. Even the ending, which made me incredibly sad (and I don't neccessarily agree with it a hundred ...

Re: What Book Are You Reading?

*kicks the thread back into gear for the new school year* So I've started (well I had about a week ago, but I'm getting back to it) The Witcher. I'm not 100% in love with it, bu I'm not that far into it. Most interesting thing about it is the different folklore then what I'm used to. The writer is f...

Re: Favourite Genre?

Fantasy is always a standby favorite for me. Although the last few years, I've moved away from epic fantasy to more gritty, not as flashy. Or urban fantasy, which tends to blend in alot of crime or detective stories into them. Which is another favorite genre of mine. I actually went through a spree ...

Re: Belongings with sentimental value

An old school porcelain like doll with her own little wicker chair and a bunny couple with homemade clothing. It's not at all my style anymore, but they're my remnants from my mawmaw (My dad's grandmother), who passed away a few years ago from Alzheimer's. She was an absolute delight though when I w...

New Fall Shows: What's On Your List?

Every fall, they bring out a bunch of new shows, so I was wondering what new show caught your eye? Or are you only looking forward to new seasons of old shows? I know for myself, I'm looking forward to the new seasons of Big Bang Theory and Walking Dead, as well as NCIS and NCIS: New Orleans. I'm al...

Re: Whose Stone is it Anyway?

I'll have to agree it's more cultural differences. It's sort of like jumper. In Britain, it means 'sweater'. In America, it means 'a dress with shoulder straps that you wear over a shirt'. Definitely just a very different visual the reader is going to get. Philosopher still makes me think of people ...

Re: Does Magic Last?

I came into the Harry Potter fandom around the time the second book came out. I don't know if I was deliberately avoiding it because it was popular or just hadn't gotten around to reading it. But once I did start reading it, I was completely absorbed into the world. It already helped that I loved (a...

Count me as one who can't get into it also, though that might be because I don't really get into law dramas in general. While I know he's not a lawyer, it's still very court heavy. I might be willing to give him a second chance, but I don't see me following it.
