Re: Week 3 - Discussion: Abridged Books

Yeah true it does depend on what the subject matter for that class is. However, sometimes in book reviews teachers want you to add details that you can't find in abridged tales.y on that this week. Anyway a little off topic but does anyone have an idea were I can read more on teen driving? I have to...

Re: Week 3 - Discussion: Abridged Books

I do not like the idea of using abridged books for school, especially if there will be a test or book report on it, because you don't always get all the small details and that is what teachers like testing on. Or at least that is what I've noticed during my school years.

Re: Week 3 - Discussion: Abridged Books

I can't wait to start Captains Courageous .This story is about a young boy accidentally going to sea. Anyway that best abridged novels in my opinion comes from Great Illu...

I didn't really understand the quote, but I so agree with Shadow. I'm just glad that this flawed system is slowly changing in different schools.

Re: Week 2 - Discussion: Do Audio books recreate the Magic of Communal Storytelling?

When I was a kid I use to like being read to also. The best thing was the discussions that I had with my mom. These days I read to her when I put her to bed some nights. I wish that we could read more together, but sadly we don't.

This term I'm taking: Advanced Care of Magical Creatures Beginners Defense Against the Dark Arts Career Advice: Planning your Future Dragons Principles of Deep Magic The reason for this is that this class last term said I should try to work with Dragons. Re: Week 1 - Discussion: How do you read?

Personally, I don't like writing essays or anything else when I read a book. I also don't like being given a subject to find something to read, like with the book bingo. However, I do like having to read a type of book for instance read a magazine, or listen to a audio book.

Re: Week 1 - Discussion: How do you read?

I use to have a place I like reading too, which also was in a bookstore. Sadly that and a lot of other bookstores have closed around me and there have also been a few times talks about closing down the library near me. I'm just glad they decided to keep it open.

Re: Shorter Stories

I feel the same way. I prefer smaller chapter books or books with short stories in it, because of that I started a new book that has a lot of short stories in it. Some of these stories are from Latin America, which encompasses Mexico and South America. One of the stories is about a priest that was n...

Re: Music to Write To

I like listening to music if I can find music that go with the topic or story I'm writing. In other words no beach summer music during a winter scene for instance that distracts me. However, I could use help finding appropriate music. If anyone enjoys looking for things for me.

Yeah I know that. The question is: Is there a simple way to turn them. Other than the way I mentioned? Sorry if that wasn't clear. Also thank you for the help.

Re: Book Review: "Jake"

Today I read another Puppy Place story. This one about a dog name Jake and a horse named Smokey. I especially loved the ending where Smokey is found by his friend Jake. Another thing I like about this story is that Jake seems like a sweet dog that I would love to meet. I also love the Puppy Tips sec...

Re: Questions?

Question- Do judges have to come up with their own logic puzzle and board? If not I'd love to try judging or co-judging. By co-judging I mean come on and help judge and learn the ropes. If anyone willing to do that. I'm interested in learning how to do this or at least try to do this.
