Hey everyone, welcome to HOL! I'm Opal Curare, 3rd year Slytherin. My favorite thing about HOL is Quidditch, but the classes are pretty cool too.

Please feel free to poke around the site and explore things, and make sure you visit your house common rooms too. Enjoy!

dude, When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit was awful. also, Animal Farm is by far one of my least favorite books ever. Any Health class textbook is also absurd.

The Immortals were written by Tamora Pierce. She has a large collection of novels relating to that series as well.

I read Angels and Demons before The DaVinci Code, and I definitely prefer A&D. Dan Brown is an ok writer, nothing extraordinary in my opinion... I find the subject matter much more intriguing than his writings on it. I think the hype is a bit overrated, personally.

Hey =) I've only read Eragon so far, as I am currently waiting for Eldest to come out in paperback so I can buy it. In my opinion, the language and scenarios in Eragon were not quite as complicated or as involved as what is typical in the HP series, and the novel wasn't as complex. However, if you ...

Thats lame that school books dont count, because we read ten this year in AP Literature alone. Good books too, like Catcher in the Rye. But anyways... Not counting school, I probably read about 1-2 a week, depending on if I'm letting myself read cheesy easy books, or if they're actually books of "L...

Yes, yes, we all know HP, LotR, etc. are great books... And should be read, there's no debate about that. My favorite accumulated series is written by Mercedes Lackey, and includes multiple trilogies, single novels, and related works of fiction. I love the world she creates, it is so tantalizingly ...

Anne Rice is an excellent author of Vampire-ish books, who everyone should read just because they're great. (Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, etc.) Mercedes Lackey has been a favorite fantast author of mine for years now. In her series, made up mostly of trilogies with a few random bo...

Hey all... I chose the first name "Opal" because I really like pretty rock type objects... but "Diamond" is too common, and I don't like the color red, so I could hardly be a "Ruby". I've been using the name "Curare" for a while, ever since we had to pick names for Spanish class sophomore year. Tran...
